Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Anadolu University Open Education Faculty plays an essential role in overcoming educational problems of Türkiye not only by providing open and distance education to 1 million active students and 4 million graduates but also by developing specific projects. Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

DISABLED CARE AND REHABILITATION

Profile of the Programme

Despite advancements in medicine and technology, the proportion of infants, children, adults, and elderly individuals with special needs in our country has been steadily increasing in recent years. This has led to a growing demand for health, care, and social services. The increasing number of individuals with special needs has heightened the need for rehabilitation and care services and highlighted the importance of qualified mid-level human resources in this field.

The Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Program plays a crucial role in meeting this demand. Currently, only a few universities in our country have started offering associate degree programs in Disabled Care and Rehabilitation through their health vocational schools. However, given the rising number of both private and government-supported care and rehabilitation centers, it has become necessary to develop the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Associate Degree Program to fill the existing shortages of qualified personnel in this sector.

The program is designed to train new professionals for the field while also offering structured and standardized education for current workers. The main goal of the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Program is to prepare qualified individuals who can assist healthcare professionals specializing in care and rehabilitation, and who have the necessary knowledge and skills to promote and support the everyday activities of individuals with special needs.
