Profile of the Programme

The instructional aims of the Turkish Language and Literature Program are as follows:

The graduates Turkish Language and Literature Program:

I.A. 1. have advance level of knowledge and application competence on traditional and contemporary theories and approaches in relevant literature.

I.A. 2. define any type of scientific problem using the concepts approaches in the literature; analyze the problems in the light of scientific standards, develop suggestions for solutions based on proof and research, convey the results in a scientific discourse.

I.A. 3. be aware of the differences among languages, cultures, and thoughts and understand them by defining them in their own context and develops a humanistic approach.

I.A. 4. follow the studies related to the field by using a foreign language and share their fund of knowledge with their colleagues.

I.A. 5. organize a study related to the field and use the necessary communication and information technologies to implement the study.

I.A. 6. adhere to scientific and ethical values in sharing research and information.

I.A. 7. know the main works written in the field of Turkish Language and Literature; read the typical texts that follow the chronological development of Turkish language and make transcription.

I.A. 8. analyze and describe a text written in different historical stages of Turkish language (comprehension, application)

I.A. 9. analyze a historical literary text in terms of the sense of art and literary discourse of the period it was produced and compare it to other works. (analysis, synthesis, evaluation)

I.A. 10. know the theories of traditional and contemporary literature and language at advance level and make literary and linguistic criticisms of modern literary texts by evaluating them in terms of the specific movements and theories. (synthesis, evaluation, valuing)
