    Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

    Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

    At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Research Centre for Women’s Studies

Purpose of the Centre: 

To conduct research studies on every area of women’s problems at home and abroad, to collaborate with units performing studies on improvement of women’s status and conditions, to hold conventions, symposiums, panel discussions, workshops and training courses, to support and manage proposed and research projects in accordance with demands of private or public organisations.

Activity areas of the Centre:

  1. To contribute to lifelong learning in social, cultural, economic, legal and political subject areas as well as subject areas of working life, health issues, social gender and women’s problems by means of open and distance education,
  2. To engage in research, analysis and projects in accordance with purposes of the Centre, and to share the outcomes of these studies with scientific publications, academic circles and the public,
  3. To bring forward suggestions for solutions to women’s problems in line with specializations of the academic staff in the Centre, and to share the solution suggestions with concerned institutions, organisations and the public,  
  4. To provide consultancy if required by public organisations, other private entities or natural persons, to collaborate with local and foreign organisations on events and activities,
  5. To perform works and studies to bring women in a more empowered and knowledgeable, and equal status city and country-wide.
